Orchids Supplies: Potting Mix

Our versatile orchid potting media mix is ideal to cater to the distinct moisture needs for the majority of the orchids:  cattleyas, phalaenopsis, dendrobiums, paphiopedilums, oncidiums,  any epiphytic orchids.

It is a combination of western fir bark, hardwood charcoal, lava rock and coarse perlite that has been specifically prepared to promote healthy, strong growth by providing drainage and proper root ventilation. Provide your plant’s roots with quick drainage and superior air flow for superb health and growth.

This mixture includes:

• porous lava rock,
• medium size western fir bark,
• hardwood charcoal,
• coarse perlite

Excellent to use when re-potting your orchid, at least every 12-18 months or as needed to support healthy growth.

For moisture loving orchids like phaleanopsis, bulbophillum and paphiopedilum, just may add a little bit spagmoss or any other water retentive material to this mix when re-potting!

1 gallon bag, more than enough to re-pot approximately 6 to 8 orchids in a 4"pot!
