Rlc. Kita Karano Hana 'Volcano Queen' is a stunning addition to any plant collection. Its classic yellow flowers feature a deeper yellow throat and a vibrant fuschia splash on the lip's end, making for an eye-catching display.

While the blooming season of this original cattleya hybrid varies, you can expect its blossoms to last up to two weeks. To ensure its healthy growth, keep the mature plant in a 5" pot, and maintain an average height of 20-24".

If you're cultivating this orchid, make sure to provide it with the necessary care, such as providing adequate light and humidity levels, keeping it well-watered, and fertilizing it during the growing season.

Lighting: Cattleya orchids require bright, indirect light to thrive. Place them near an east- or west-facing window where they can receive morning or afternoon sun, but avoid direct sunlight, which can burn their leaves.

Temperature and humidity: Cattleya orchids prefer warm, humid conditions. Ideally, temperatures should range between 60-85°F (15-29°C) during the day, with a drop of about 10-15°F (5-8°C) at night. A humidity level of around 50-70% is optimal, which can be achieved by placing a tray of water or a humidifier near the plant.

Watering: Cattleya orchids should be watered thoroughly, but allow the potting mix to dry out slightly before watering again. Avoid letting the roots sit in standing water, as this can cause root rot.

Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), cattleya orchids benefit from regular fertilization with a balanced orchid fertilizer. Reduce the frequency of fertilization during the winter months when growth slows down.

Repotting: Cattleya orchids should be repotted every 2-3 years or when the potting mix breaks down and becomes compacted. Use a well-draining orchid mix and trim any dead or damaged roots before repotting.

This is a blooming size in a 5” pot about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited!

By following these tips, you can help your cattleya orchid thrive and produce beautiful blooms year after year.
