Introducing the Enchanting Angraecum Lemforde White Beauty

In the world of orchids, there exists a royal couple, the King (Angcm. sesquipedale) and the Queen (Angcm. magdalenae). From their union emerges the magnificent Angraecum Lemforde White Beauty, a botanical marvel that perfectly embodies the best qualities of its regal parents.

This extraordinary hybrid showcases striking characteristics that set it apart. While it borrows its rounded flower shape from the sesquipedale parent, the Lemforde White Beauty boasts a larger size, with its blossoms measuring an impressive 5 to 6 inches across. Moreover, it inherits a longer nectary, an elegant feature reminiscent of sesquipedale. The sepals and petals, broader near the pedicel, echo the magdalenae parent's charm, while the lip, although not as lengthy as sesquipedale's, showcases a remarkable width akin to magdalenae. A unique trait it inherits from sesquipedale is the petals' ability to retract, nearly 90 degrees, adding an element of enchantment to its allure.

Yet, what truly makes the Lemforde White Beauty remarkable is its adaptation to diverse environments. The sesquipedale thrives in the tropical lowlands, basking in bright shade and diffused light, a climate perfectly mirrored in South Florida. Here, it flourishes year-round. In contrast, the magdalenae finds its sanctuary at higher altitudes, enduring a drier and cooler season, and establishing itself in rocky mountain terrain. South Florida's sub-tropical climate makes it an ideal home for the Lemforde White Beauty, as it emulates the conditions of its sesquipedale parent.

Cultivating this beauty is a breeze, much like caring for the sesquipedale. It is content in a smaller 6-inch shallow pot, reaching a modest height of 10 to 14 inches. Embrace the sun; it can handle bright, direct sunlight until noon in South Florida or a north-facing window in cooler regions. During winter, ease up on watering, providing a drink every 7 to 10 days. As temperatures rise, move it outdoors under shelter until nighttime temperatures hover around 50 degrees.

This is a blooming size in a 4" pot, about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited!

Angraecum Lemforde White Beauty graces us with its pristine, white blooms, a fragrant spectacle that unfolds anywhere from mid-May to late July, depending on your geographic location. This enchanting hybrid is a testament to the beauty that can arise from the union of two remarkably different Angraecum species. Experience the elegance and splendor of the Lemforde White Beauty, a sought-after jewel in the orchid world.
