Introducing the Exotic Dendrobium goldschmidtianum Orchid! Originating from the lush jungles of Thailand and the Philippines, the Dendrobium goldschmidtianum is a true marvel of nature. This epiphytic wonder thrives nestled amidst ficus trees in the banyan jungles, flourishing at altitudes around 300 meters above sea level. Now, you can bring a piece of this vibrant ecosystem into your own home with our carefully cultivated Dendrobium goldschmidtianum orchid.

Dendrobium goldschmidtianum is a medium to large-sized orchid boasts cane-like stems reaching heights of 60-80 cm, adorned with linear-lanceolate leaves that measure 8 cm in length and 3-3.5 cm in width. As the late winter transitions into early spring, and again in late summer to early fall, delicate clusters of fragrant flowers grace the plant. These blooms, ranging in shades of pink with lighter strips, are a delightful sight, each measuring 1.3-2 cm in diameter. With lanceolate sepals and a triple-lipped structure, the flowers of the Dendrobium goldschmidtianum are truly captivating.

Cultivation Tips:

Light: Embrace the bright sun and provide your Dendrobium goldschmidtianum with ample natural light. Ideal locations include southern, southwestern, western, and southeastern windows, where it can bask in up to 70000 lux of sunlight. For eastern and northern exposures, supplement with artificial light to encourage optimal growth and blooming. Aim for a total light duration of 10-12 hours daily, preferably extending up to 16 hours.

Temperature: Maintain a moderately warm environment for your orchid, with daytime temperatures ranging from 18-30°C and nighttime temperatures not dropping below 12°C. Ensure a temperature difference of at least 4°C between day and night for optimal growth.

Humidity: Mimic the natural humidity levels of its habitat by keeping the air around your orchid moist, ideally above 50% relative humidity. Regular ventilation is essential to prevent the buildup of stagnant, humid air that can invite fungal and bacterial diseases.

Substrate and Repotting: Choose a well-draining substrate composed of coniferous bark, charcoal, peat, and sphagnum moss, supplemented with granite pebbles for stability. Repot only when necessary, such as when the substrate becomes excessively saline or compacted. Optimal repotting time is when new shoots begin to develop their own roots.

Watering: Adjust watering frequency based on temperature and light intensity. Water daily for orchids mounted on blocks, ensuring roots dry by evening. For potted orchids, water generously, allowing excess water to drain freely to prevent root rot. Maintain slightly moist roots, avoiding prolonged dryness.

Fertilizer: During active growth, feed your Dendrobium goldschmidtianum monthly with half the recommended concentration of orchid fertilizer.

Rest Period: Enjoy the continuous beauty of your orchid year-round, as it does not require a rest period for flowering or growth stimulation. With sufficient light, the plant maintains its green foliage and blooms cyclically as new pseudobulbs form.

This is a blooming size in a 4" pot, newly repotted, about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited!

With these cultivation tips, you'll embark on a rewarding journey nurturing the exquisite Dendrobium goldschmidtianum orchid, a testament to the splendor of nature's diversity.
