Renowned for its striking 1″ yellow and orange flowers adorned with captivating red stripes, this orchid species adds a touch of tropical elegance to any collection.

Cultivation Tips:

Light: Provide Dendrobium topaziacum with a light level ranging from 25000 to 35000 lux. Morning sun exposure is beneficial, but be cautious to avoid leaf burn, particularly during the intense midday sun. Consistent light conditions year-round foster optimal growth and blooming.

Temperature: Thriving in warm to hot climates, Dendrobium topaziacum flourishes with daytime temperatures around 32-33 °C and nighttime temperatures at 24 °C during summer. Winter temperatures should range between 28-30 °C during the day and 22-23 °C at night, ensuring a moderate daily temperature differential.

Humidity: Maintain a humidity level of 80-85% throughout the year to mimic its native tropical habitat, providing the ideal environment for healthy growth and flowering.

Substrate and Repotting: This medium-sized epiphytic species adapts well to tree rootstocks, cork, or loose, airy substrates in pots. Ensure high humidity levels and water daily during summer. Repot as needed when new roots emerge.

Watering: Keep Dendrobium topaziacum evenly moist, with slight drying between watering sessions. Adjust watering frequency according to seasonal changes, ensuring hydration during dry periods.

Fertilization: Apply a balanced orchid fertilizer at 1/4 to 1/2 strength weekly or bi-weekly throughout the year. This promotes robust growth and vibrant blooms.

Rest Period: During the winter months, Dendrobium topaziacum can tolerate cooler nighttime temperatures, down to 12 °C. Reduce watering and fertilization during this period, particularly in low-light conditions, to facilitate a restful phase.

This is a blooming size imported bare root orchid; newly repotted in a 4" pot; about 1 to 2 years to bloom; Grown from seed; Limited!
