Orchids Cold Weather Protection - Winter

Important Information - Read Carefully Before Completing Your Purchase!

As we enter the winter months, we want to ensure the safe delivery of your orders. Therefore, we kindly request your attention to the following options available for you to add to your orchids plants purchase:

Option #1: Heat Pack Only

We schedule shipping for the following Monday after you've placed your order. If your next 10-day weather forecast indicates temperatures below 50°F/10°C, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack to your shipment. Without it, we cannot guarantee the health of your plant upon arrival.

Our recommended heat pack is designed to provide reliable and continuous heat release for up to five days. The heat pack maintains a minimum temperature of 68°F (20°C) when used in an enclosed environment. We cannot guarantee the healthy arrival of blooms, buds, and/or spikes.

When we ship your package with a heat pack, it is designed to prevent freezing during transit for up to 5 days. However, if your package is left exposed, such as being unattended on your porch, to freezing temperatures for more than 10 minutes, it may cause damage to your plants. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to use the provided tracking number to monitor your package. Please ensure you are present when your package is out for delivery to receive it hand to hand.

By selecting this shipping option, please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any cold damage that may occur if the package is left unattended in extreme cold weather conditions for an extended period of time. Your vigilance in monitoring and receiving the package is crucial to the well being of your orchids.

Option #2: Heat Pack Duo + Signature Required by USPS®

We schedule shipping for the following Monday after you've placed your order. If your next 10-day weather forecast indicates temperatures below 50°F/10°C, we strongly recommend adding a heat pack to your shipment. Without it, we cannot guarantee the health of your plant upon arrival.

Our recommended Heat Pack is designed to provide reliable and continuous heat release for up to five days. The heat pack maintains a minimum temperature of 68°F (20°C) when used in an enclosed environment.

To further enhance temperature control during shipment, we have added a Stabilizer to our shipping boxes, designed to keep products within the range of 69-75°F in both hot and cold environments. They are particularly well-suited for shipping temperature-sensitive items, such as plants that require a temperature range of 20°C to 30°C. The stabilizer packs can maintain stable temperatures for longer periods. However, we cannot guarantee the healthy arrival of blooms, buds, and/or spikes.

Also, this option includes the Signature Required Delivery Confirmation Services by USPS® which ensure that your package will not be left unattended unless someone is available to sign for it upon delivery.

It is crucial to receive the shipment on the First Delivery Attempt or arrange for pick-up on the same day with your local post office. Failure to do so, leading to a delay of a day or more, absolves us of responsibility for any resulting losses due to Hot Weather Damage, therefore our Healthy Plant on Arrival Guarantee is not applicable. Tracking the delivery status is your responsibility, even if the courier does not leave a notification.

Option #3: Heat Pack Duo + Insulation Thermal Liner + Signature Required

This option includes the Heat Pack + Stabilizer Duo, and our insulated Thermal Liner which has the ability to keep its contents hot for hours. This option it can maintain high temperatures for extended periods. The specialized bubble liners not only provide excellent thermal protection but also ensure the physical safety of your products throughout the delivery process. Our insulated thermal liners are made from 100% food-grade and non-toxic materials.

When we ship your package with a heat pack, there is no risk of freezing up to 5 days. However, if your package is left exposed to freezing temperatures for more than 30 minutes, it may damage your plants. Therefore, the Signature Required by USPS® ensure that your package will not be left unattended unless someone is available to sign for it upon delivery, providing an added precaution to ensure the safety of your orchids upon arrival. However, we cannot guarantee the healthy arrival of blooms, buds, and/or spikes.

It is crucial to receive the shipment on the First Delivery Attempt or arrange for pick-up on the same day with your local post office. Failure to do so, leading to a delay of a day or more, absolves us of responsibility for any resulting losses. Option #4. Do Not Ship until Further Notice

We acknowledge that prolonged exposure to cold weather conditions may compromise the integrity of the orchids. As a precautionary measure, we provide you with the option to Do Not Ship until Further Notice — we will hold your plants in our facilities until weather conditions become favorable. Opting for this choice ensures that your order reaches you in optimal weather conditions.

If you choose this option, it is your responsibility to inform us of the appropriate date to ship your package, considering your local 10-day weather forecast. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us deliver your order under the best possible conditions.

Important Notices:

We recognize that your orchids are more than just plants; they represent an investment and a source of joy. That's why we've introduced these new services to provide you with an effective solution for safeguarding your precious orchids during cold weather conditions.

While we take meticulous care in packing your plants, we strongly recommend adding the Winter Protection Plan to your shipment for the optimal health of your plants. By choosing any of the available options above, you will ensure your eligibility for our Healthy  Plant Guarantee on Arrival , except for Option #1, if cold damage occur.

If the local weather in your area drops below 50°F/10°C and you do not add any of the options available in the Winter Protection Plan to your shopping cart, your purchase will not be eligible for our Healthy Plant Guarantee on Arrival , we cannot be held responsible for any cold damage.

If you decide not to add any of the options available in the Winter Protection Plan to your shopping cart, your purchase will not be protected by our Healthy  Plant Guarantee on Arrival , and any damage to the plants associated with cold damage will be the responsibility of the recipient. And your order will be shipped according to our shipping schedule.

We would like to emphasize that La Foresta Orchids cannot be held responsible for delays caused by USPS due to unexpected extreme weather and/or any other reason. Consequently, we will not accept refund, return, or replacement requests if your shipment takes longer than expected due to USPS-related issues. If you wish to expedite your shipment, we strongly recommend selecting USPS Express Mail Service (1 to 3 business days) during the checkout process.

It is important to note that, while you may choose any of the options available in the Weather Protection Plan, we cannot guarantee the healthy arrival of blooms, buds, and/or spikes during shipping.

This is an ADD-ON service to be included with your orchid plant purchases. If you order this product without any orchid plants in your order, your order will be canceled, and a refund will be issued.
