It also thrives in the Crocker mountains, where it flourishes in lower stature hill and lower montane forests, often found near streams and rooted at the base of trees. This species thrives at an altitude of 366 meters, showcasing its adaptability to specific environmental conditions.

With a blooming season in both spring and fall, the Phalaenopsis modesta graces us with its presence when its slender, arching to pendant racemose inflorescences, measuring 5 to 6" (12.5 to 15 cm) in length, emerge. These inflorescences, adorned with ovate-lanceolate, cucullate floral bracts, are slightly shorter than the plant's elegant leaves. The flowers themselves are delicate, exuding a strong fragrance that captivates anyone in their vicinity. Star-shaped and measuring 2.5-3.8 cm in diameter, the outer whorl of narrow petals boasts a white to pale pink hue, while the inner whorl showcases broad petals with delicate purple stripes. The base of the flower gradually transitions from purple to green, adding to its allure. The lip of the flower, predominantly white, sometimes features a purple top in the middle plot, with side plots exhibiting a captivating combination of white, yellow, and purple.
